After walking inside what looked like a brick box with a sign, I was pleasantly surprised to find a bar and a dining area larger than the cozy atmosphere suggested. The layout, decor, and friendliness of the waitstaff made me feel as though I were dining in someone's home. That's a good feeling. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and helpful.
I ordered a fish taco (never had one before) and the seafood burrito. The fish taco was... different. I probably wouldn't turn one down but I wouldn't go out of my way for another. It just wasn't my thing. The southwest ranch sauce for the fish taco was pretty good. The seafood burrito, however... I'm getting emotional just thinking about it. It was one of the tastiest things I've had in a long time. It was absolutely mouthwateringly sensational. They call it a 10" burrito but I can't figure out what system of measure they use. I mean this thing was HUGE. I ate until it was painful and still took home more in my to go box than in my stomach.
The restaurant seemed very clean and well organized. Their prices seem very reasonable, especially given the size of their portions. Our meal (for three) was about forty bucks and we all had leftovers to boot. I definitely recommend trying Tia Helita's. Check out their website at:
